May is Mental Health Awareness Month

We’re wrapping up this week’s yoga research with an academic article titled “Yoga an effective strategy for self-management of stress-related problems and wellbeing during COVID19 lockdown: A cross-sectional study” published online by PLOS ONE.

COVID-19 lockdowns introduced a lot of changes in the yoga community. Online yoga and yoga for self-care are more common now that yoga doesn’t feel so limited to a designated physical space.

This in-depth research article provides evidence supporting yoga’s effectiveness in self-managing stress, anxiety, and depression specifically during COVID-19 lockdown. It’s well-researched and includes citations and links to fifty resources on the topic. With its academic style and in-depth explanations of the research presented, be ready to dedicate a little extra time to reading this article and all of the references it offers.

Happy reading, yogis!

Namaste and blessings,

Tara
